The Centopassi Restaurant is a completely new enterprise, inaugurated in February 2023 in the historic center of San Daniele del Friuli, just a few steps away from the Church of San Antonio.
An innovative concept, which was missing in these parts, based on excellent fresh fish, to debunk the myth that good seafood can only be eaten at the seaside.
A cuisine without too much frills, to highlight the naturalness of the products, playing with interesting combinations of the hilly terrains, such as the renowned San Daniele raw ham, an authentic local excellence.

The Chef
The Ristorante Centopassi was initiated by Stefano Comello, a 34-year-old chef with over 15 years of experience in restaurants, hotels and catering in Friuli Venezia Giulia, specifically in Trieste, Gorizia and Udine. Born in Trieste, he developed a passion for cooking from a young age, stealing the secrets of his mother and grandmothers. At the age of 14, he enrolled in the Bonaldo Stringher Professional Institute in Udine, commuting from Trieste for all of his 5 years of high school. In 2007, he graduated as a restaurant technician. He began his work experience during the summer breaks from school and at the age of 15 he managed to gain experience in a renowned Trieste seafood restaurant, where he began to understand the real dynamics of life in the kitchen. In the first few years after graduating, thanks to an unbridled passion and excellent predisposition for the profession, he was given important roles in many kitchens of Friulian restaurants. With his wife Sabrina, whom he met in high school, he ended up in San Daniele del Friuli, his wifeâs hometown. Stefanoâs dream has always been to open his own seafood restaurant, and after 16 years as an employee in various establishments, he decided to take the leap and fulfill his dream. On February 13, 2023, Ristorante Centopassi was finally established, introducing seafood cuisine in an unusual location, the homeland of the famous prosciutto crudo. At this restaurant, the chef and owner himself serves delicious seafood dishes, even creatively pairing them with the king of San Daniele, the prosciutto crudo.

Our proposal is aimed at all lovers of quality cuisine and those who wish to experiment with dishes and pairings different from the usual, dishes in which fresh fish reigns supreme in raw fish-based appetizers, first courses and main courses, all intriguingly paired with our San Daniele. A cuisine where raw materials are selected with the utmost care, choosing only top-quality products to offer customers a new and enjoyable culinary experience. The prawns wrapped in ham with burrata, the seafood carbonara and San Daniele, are just hints of how much Stefano, the chef, wants to maintain the connection between fish and raw San Daniele ham. Unusual but possible.
LA LOCATION
When the sea reaches the hill.
The restaurant is located in the center of the town, in a beautiful historic building with a colonnaded porch that welcomes the customer. An elegant and familiar atmosphere at the same time, to offer diners moments of relaxation and carefreeness in a fascinating setting. Inside, the common thread is the sea, and there are many references to marine-style furniture and colors, so much so that sitting at the table feels like being inside a ship.
A location that has been taken care of in detail, with a strong identity, where you can stop to have a drink and taste sandwiches and tasty snacks, it′s also ideal for romantic and business dinners.
